STRING Region Short Film Competition

We are happy to announce that the STRING Region Short Film Competition has finally started. The competition is a new international talent development programme. It is designed to support young filmmakers from the STRING region, bring them together and to turn their creative ideas into films.

Who we are looking for?

Young filmmakers between 18 and 25 years old who love making films and would benefit from professional help and support. This could be individuals or teams that live in the region from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein over Denmark to Skåne in Sweden.

What we are looking for?

Ideas, proposals (not finished films) for a short film that will be no longer than 7 minutes under the broad theme of “Tales from your region”. This could be scenic, documentary, tragic, cheerful or satiric – everything is allowed and appreciated.

What do we offer?

A three day talent campus for 8-10 new talents during the International Short Film Festival in Hamburg (9.-15.6.2015) with full accreditation to the festival. There will be professional coaches in script, cinematography and production, willing to work with the young talents on their ideas. Three of the canditates can win 2.000 Euro of an earmarked budget for the production of their films. In addition they will receive professional guidance and equipment for the production and help in the promotion of the finished films to hit the big screen at northern festivals.

The competition is funded by the STRING Network in partnership with the ministry of culture in Schleswig-Holstein and delivered by the University of Applied Sciences Kiel in cooperation with the Filmworkshop Kiel, the Filmworkshop of the Danish Film Institute (DFI), Odense Filmworkshop and Film i Skåne.
