Danish-German conference focussing on green opportunities

Danish, German, Swedish and Norwegian politicians, business people, researchers, etc. will meet on 12 June in Rødbyhavn for a conference on future green opportunities in the Fehmarnbelt Region, which will give new perspectives as to the future Fehmarnbelt fixed link.

The conference is being organised as part of the Fehmarnbelt Days 2023 and is entitled “Unlocking the Green Potential of a Unified North”.

Along with presentations and panel discussions in English, participants can look forward to countless networking opportunities.

Lykke Friis is the conference moderator, and she will be joined on stage by, among others, Heino Knudsen, Chairman of the Regional Council, Region Zealand; Claus Ruhe Madsen, Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Labour, Technology and Tourism, Schleswig-Holstein; Dr. Arno Probst, Chairman of the Fehmarnbelt Business Council, Karen Maguire, Division Director, OECD; Werner Schwarz, Minister for Agriculture, Europe and Consumer Protection in Schleswig-Holstein; Mikkel Kiil, CEO of Green2X; and Morten Dyrholm, Group Senior Vice President of Vestas Wind Systems Denmark.

The programme includes panel debates and workshops with the following headlines:

  • Mechanisms and game changers in a thriving cross border region
  • Building the Greater Fehmarn Region: Opportunities and actions
  • Interconnected and green entrepreneurship & innovation in the megaregion
  • A call to action for a connected megaregion for a clean, green economy
