Fehmarnbelt Days goes public

Sep 29, 2019 | Infrastrukture

The Fehmarnbelt Days are not all about conferences and stuffy debates aimed at politicians and the suited and booted guests walking the waxed floors of the Tivoli Hotel & Congress centre. Quite the contrary – the Fehmarnbelt Days go public at City Square on the first of October.
A blow-up bouncy castle in the shape and form of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel, music, a football tournament, tasty treats from the STRING region, electric vehicles and an information tent telling you all about tourism from Hamburg over Zealand to Copenhagen. This sets the framework for the real Fehmarnbelt Days for Copenhageners and visitors alike from the first to the second of October.

A human football tournament with youngsters from the Swedish, Danish and German parts of the STRING region will kick-start proceeding – hopefully under a blazing sun. The kids will have a bouncy castle to keep them entertained – as well as the opportunity to build their very own tunnel.

The public can keep up to date on the tunnel construction and the tourist attractions of the STRING region. There is also the opportunity to admire the next generation of electric vehicles of all sizes.

The idea behind these activities at the City Square is to show the inhabitants how the upcoming Fehmarnbelt Tunnel will affect the region between Hamburg and Öresund – across borders. Of course, the focus is also on the children, as the future inhabitants of the STRING region.
